Scallions

In Connecticut, where are farm is located, we start direct seeding our scallions as early as March 15th and continue to succession plant throughout out the summer. We order our seeds from Johnny’s Seeds. White Spear is the variety that we typically grow.

Why we love scallions -

  • They are easy to grow
  • They enhance the flavor profile of a salad or quinoa/grain bowl with a mild onion taste
  • Because they can be planted so early in the year, you'll be able to harvest them end of June
  • They look beautiful!

Scallions add great flavor to any dish and are used throughout all cultures. You’ll see scallions in Greek, French, and Chinese recipes.

Below are some of our favorite scallion recipes.
